![]() ![]() My favorite option is the touch the bud one though and the split screen text. I look forward to what else the software thinks of next. I put some photos of the M2 size vs the new M3 as well. I wish other headphones would do this too, lol. I really like the magnetic splitting case. It is even packaged nicely and was fun to open. So it pauses, but stays active until you speak again. You have to realize that the "touch function" stays active until the other person touches their bud. The speed of recognition is so fast that it caught me off guard, lol. The bud alone is just such an improvement. The case is smaller and feels slightly better in quality. I thought these would focus more on vocals with EQ tuning, but the bass is pretty darn good. The audio quality, at least with Spotify, is really good. On top of that, these look far more like Air pods and fit in my ear so much better. I never got to pull those out when traveling to actually converse with someone who spoke no English. I tried it a few times with some friends and it worked pretty well. I had the M2 version that I got for Christmas a few years back. However, I didn't expect the upgrade in the sound quality and response time to be so much more improved. Yep, I upgraded these simply because the M3 design is sleeker and looked as if it would fit better. Finally, I hope they could integrate the simultaneous mode into this device so that ALL functions could happen on one device. I’m hoping Timekettle will keep adding to their offline libraries of languages, improve upon their Fish Card process for downloading them (and make it account based versus device based, meaning that my multiple devices could each access the downloaded libraries). For that matter, both parties can be reading the translations quite easily, too. The person using the phone will either need the volume up or will be reading the translation. Noisy environments can be a challenge, too, although these buds greatly improve upon that for the wearer. As for limitations, if you are using any of the languages that don’t have offline downloads available, you are limited by the speed of your internet connection. Also, being able to keep both your earbuds in and quickly transition from phone or music into translation, and without needing to share earbuds, is quite convenient indeed. In order to have the phone and music features, this unit sacrifices the simultaneous mode of the Edge unit, but that is a reasonable trade off for the other functionality. The app interface is quick and intuitive, and being able to quickly switch the screen from the side by side, to the facing mode is very handy. Sound quality is good as is the noise isolation. The form factor is much more secure in the ear than the previous models (and even their Edge unit). Each team has its own set of goals, rules and processes that you will need to follow if you choose to join.I have owned a number of Timekettle translators now and this is my new favorite. These groups of volunteers work together to help localise Ubuntu for their respective languages. Once you understand the translation process and want to further your involvement, you can join a Translation Team. Read the Translation Quickstart Guide Browse the software Translation overview Join a Translation Team There’s no special software and in most cases you don’t need to join a team to get started. All you need is a Launchpad account and a web browser. Using Launchpad, you can translate free software projects and distribution packages into your own language. If you’re fluent in multiple languages and want to help open up the world of Ubuntu to people all over the globe, consider becoming a community translator. Ubuntu is a global project and therefore it’s important that it’s available in many languages. Contribute to Translation and Localisation ![]()
